Backlog Grooming via Standuply

Hi,

From today, we start to explore the new report templates which we recently released in Standuply.

The first one is a backlog grooming. ✂️

In case, if you don't familiar with the process, you can read about backlog grooming here.

How to set up the report to efficiently run this process via Standuply:

1️⃣ Set up the frequency of this process.

We recommend to run this process at least 1-2 times a month. It helps ether to keep the backlog an actual and doesn't overload the team with the process.

2️⃣ Select the backlog reviewers.

The backlog reviewers are the whole team or just a part of it who assesses the actuality of the backlog.

We strongly advise engaging the entire team into this process.

3️⃣ Set up the task tracker params.

It means that you should specify in Standuply your task tracker params to let it pull the tasks and send it to respondents for review.

It's better to select the random tasks from the backlog column of your project to send for the assessment.

This case, when the whole team participated in the processes, every process run you will have the many different assessed tasks but same time every respondent spends time only answering for the single object questions.

So, the whole backlog reviewed and every team member spend on it just a couple of minutes. Just imagine how profitable it is on an annual basis.

It's not necessary for the backlog grooming to specify the assignee from your task tracker. Because in this process all members review all tasks. But you can do this if needed in your particular case.

4️⃣ Create the assessment questions to ask.

So, afterward, you just need to write down the questions that every respondent have to answer. Or you may just use our samples.

5️⃣ Choose the channel to share results.

So, as for usual reports in Standuply you just can specify the report summary delivery point.

We recommend sharing the report summary of the backlog grooming with the entire team in the separate Slack channel.

This case the whole team stay updated and can discuss or add the comments to the assessments from other teammates.

Into the Slack, the process looks like this:

So, make your processes more efficient with the Standuply and just be focused on your work but not routine.
